Heritage Auctions was offering the Jon D Lusk Collection of Early Quarters by Browning number. I do not know much about Jon D Lusk. His collection was certainly very complete with 97 coins (including duplicates) from 1805-1838. 24 of them were details only with signs of cleaning, scratches and other issues. Among the trouble free coins, the average grade was 20.6. The majority of the coins were identified on the PCGS Secure Shield slab as being part of the Jon D. Lusk Collection and 49 had pedigree information prior to the current sale. With one coin haling from the 1955 Farish Baldenhofer sale.
I had a short list of coins in the under $200 price range and narrowed it down to coins that would "fit" in my collection in terms of date, rarity and interesting features (die cracks, etc.). I also paid attention to pedigree.
