Doors open at 6 PM, with the meeting to start at 7 PM. I arrived around 6:40 PM. Dealers had set up their wares and were doing the buy/sell/trade thing. There was also silent auction items and free numismatic magazines.
The talk was given by Bob Bair on Love Tokens which featured the 1898 $5 gold piece from his essay submitted to CAC Grading. His family certainly had an interesting story with his grandfather purchasing the coin to wear on his pocket watch chain as a reminder of his wife and the date she accepted his marriage proposal.
There was also some business stuff including treasurer's report, secretary's report, update on medals.
Finally there was an auction at the end that I did not stick around for.
I did purchase and 1835 h10c LM-8.1 (raw VF25) from DR that filled a nice hole in my collection. Ideally I would submit it for PCGS grading at the next opportunity.
