Kolbe & Fanning Bid or Buy Sale 22

Kolbe & Fanning had a few interesting books on Indian coinage in their recent bid or buy sale.

Lot 302. Thomas, Edward. THE INDIAN SWASTIKA AND ITS EUROPEAN COUNTERPARTS. 1880. $30.

Lot 390. Carter, Martha L. A TREASURY OF INDIAN COINS. 1994. $80

Lot 403. Cuhaj, George S [editor]. SOUTH ASIAN COINS AND PAPER MONEY. INDIAN EDITION: INCLUDING UNDIVIDED INDIA PRIOR TO 1947 AD. 2003. $60.

Lot 302 was a bit antiquated and was strictly a collectible.  I decided to pass.  I decided to bid at $2 over the minimum bid of 50% on lots 390 and 403.  "A Treasury of Indian Coins" had already sold so somebody shelled out the $80 which is probably worth it.  It is available for $85 on Amazon.  "South Asian Coins and Paper Money" was still available and is also on available for $95 on Amazon.  I think my $32 bid is on the low side, but may still work out.  Hard to argue with 15% buyers premium and free shipping on this work.

I did win lot 403 for $32 (+$4.80 buyers premium + $6.00 shipping).
