Of the (14) lots I am most interested in, most can be found on Amazon in roughly the price range of the current bidding. Of my (6) Priority 1 books, I need to bid aggressively on Hafner, Liddle and Rose. I will go after Galloway on my Priority 2 list.
I will pick up Brotman's book on Temple Coins from Amazon, unless I can get it for $25 from the auction. There are currently (5) copies for sale between $40 and $70. I bid $20 and was outbid, next bid is $30 pass.
I can wait on Herrli's book.
Lots for live bidding - 218 or 219, 248, 356, 509
SUMMARY 9/23/2023 - (4) lots, $75 plus juice and shipping
SUMMARY 10/6/2023 - (4) lots, $115 plus juice and shipping
SUMMARY 10/9/2023 - I will likely purchase the two lots at $20 and have a decision to go $50-$60 on the work on Talers and whether I am willing to push $100 for the Chopmarks book. Neither Rose's work or Gullberg's 2014 publication appear to be available.
UPDATE 10/9/2023 - The bidding has been robust, with the average sales price (not including buyers premium averaging over 2X the estimate my lots of interest. There have been (7) lots go for over $500 with a large lot of ONS Print Journals taking the top spot at $900. I was outbid on (3) lots and ended up purchasing Chop Marks at $90 (nearly double my initial estimate) and Ancient Coin Collecting (from my Tier 2 list). Overall, my spend was $130 (just a smidge over $125 plan), but I purchased (2) lots instead of (4).
