January 2024 - D.A.W.N. and South Suburban - Medals

John Dean gave a nice talk on medals.  I had heard some of this before, but it did spark my interest to scour eBay looking for some weightlifting medals.

There was an abundance and they were on the order of $10 each.  The problem for me is how to come up with a thoughtful collection.  Focus on United States, world, schools, designs, size?  It is all a bit overwhelming.

I also talked to Dave from Corbett's Auction House.  Interestingly, they have a tremendous selection of capped bust dimes in the February 18th auction.  Unfortunately I will be out of town.

Large meeting around 20 people in attendance.
