I am still focused on US capped bust dimes and half dimes and was pleasantly surprised to have about a half dozen coins scattered about the bourse floor (leftover from the Wednesday early birds and the Thursday crowd). Despite all of my preparation, I showed up without my half dimes book and did not even have a pen to take notes for later. Fortunately I did have my dime book and grabbed a really nice 1833 10c JR-1 CAC approved in AU55.
In terms of parting with stuff. I did not find a home for my melt value silver coins or world currency. I did part with (4) capped bust half dollars VF-XF and (2) 1865 2c coins in trade for the before mentioned 10c. I did show my 1904 St. Louis World's Fair Medal to one dealer who offered me $40. I think I can do better. I had some interest in my Barber Half, but at $135 (well below the $180 I paid). Finally, I turned over the box of nickels to the Denver Coin Club to give out to some of the kids that attend the show over the next couple of days.
As part of admission, I had a post card for (2) free coins graded by ANACS. I turned over a couple of dimes. I considered getting a couple of half dollars graded as well for $19 each, but decided to wait.
All in all I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to going back tomorrow with the kids and my half dime book.
