When I reviewed the prices realized of $45 and $100, it occurred to me that $145 was roughly the rent money back in 1975 and it got me even more curious about the coins.
Lot 02245 - 1676 African Company Crown (Charles II)
Lot 02646 - Six Scarce silver issues of the Mexican Peso (including 1921 "Winged Victory")
Unsurprisingly, these coins have appreciated considerably and need to be third party authenticated. Being off the market for 50 years would justify having the provenance recorded as well. I will likely send them to NGC, but am also considering PCGS. I will not necessarily monetize either one, but they are fascinating coins.
I also do not know the reference numbers. To remedy that, I have purchased English Silver Coinage (ESC) by Maurice Bull for the ESC or Spink (S) number. For the Mexican coins, I have yet to figure out what the Y number refers to.
UPDATE: Submitted (3) coins to NGC via Centennial Gold & Silver
