David Lawrence recently brought an 1835 10c JR-4 (R7 as proof) Lot 821866 and it came and went without much fanfare on May 11, 2025 (Mother's Day).
The stunning coin had a PCGS retail price of $24,000. The morning of the auction it had one bidder for $24,000 and then ended up hammering for $24,250.
I don't expect to ever own a proof coin, but I would like to follow the market if for no other reason than to provide a reference for my dime talk.
